I am a student looking for a powerful, portable laptop that can will handle all my work and study needs with ease and keep its speed for the remainder of my course and beyond. Basically looking for something for long haul.

I have settled on choosing either the dell xps 13 or MacBook pro 13 (without touchbar) with the following specs;

Dell: i7-7500u, 16 Gb ram, 512Gb ssd, 3200x1800 display. Mac: i7-7660u, 8Gb ram, 256Gb sad, no touch bar.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
